    1. It’s an Australian English thing. Kabocha is a specific type of winter squash, and in AuE ‘pumpkin’ is used as a general term for winter squashes rather than just the orange things.

      1. The “pumpkin” came verbatim from the translator, I didn’t change anything. It’s also what was used in the CXC scanlation and in Funi’s official subs for this episode.

        It’s also listed as “pumpkin; squash” in the dictionary and given that said vegetables were never actually pictured in the episode (just used as a metaphor) I assume all involved translators just used that definition.
