EUREKA SEVEN AO 23 + 24 (End)

This picture is indicative of my feelings right now (fuck you fgg 100% and fuck you sindalf 50% for ditching me). Will blog more after I’m done with 24, which will be in an hour or two.

I have mixed feelings about this show. I expected an E7-esque feeling with similar themes (it’s a sequel after all), but that’s not what I got. I’m sure a lot of you are the same as I am in that regards. That’s also the reason why this series feels lackluster in a lot of ways —  we expected E7, not E7AO. E7AO touched upon different themes than the original E7, and to be honest, I don’t think it did too bad of a job.

Hmm, is it true that there will be an OVA at the end of vol. 9? Maybe that will bring a rounder and fuller ending.

Anyway! Thanks to vale for translating, kaydat for doing some editing, sindalf for timing (maybe fgg too), matt for helping to encode, and finally koda for MORAL SUPPORT and sending us WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT THIS ENTIRE TIME!!!

Hope your ride on this show wasn’t too bad.

Eureka Seven AO EP14

In this episode, we find out that Ao is a girl. There’s also a new opening and ending this episode. The opening is once more done by FLOW, and there are parts of the song that sound suspiciously familiar to DAYS. Good old nostalgia. Speaking of which, AO seems to retain the same pacing trait that the original did — a slower start where it takes a while to get things going. Unfortunate since AO is 1/2 the episodes of E7. E7AO Ep 13

I thought Jaka wanted to post this himself to fanboy over Eureka returning to the show, but it appears not. In this week’s episode: Time paradoxes. Personally I wish Holland had gotten out of the Gekko and punched Ao in the face, but we can’t all have our way. (Torrent) Moyashimon Returns will be out “later”. The translator said he was going to take a nap and didn’t wake up when his alarm went off which set us back a good 6 or so hours.

E7AO 11! And an update about new shows

the bourne identity

In this episode, cat drugs. Also, happy 4th of july. (Torrent) We won’t be doing UtaKoi since it’s being streamed on Crunchyroll. However, Funimation has yet to release Binbogami ga, so we’ve began working on the first episode. The editor had to run off to work (he’s an un-American swine), so it’ll be out later tonight. On that note, we’re looking for a dedicated typesetter for Binbogami ga. It airs on Wednesdays, and you would need to be available for typesetting beginning around 2pm PST. The signs require some effort, but \a6 is always an acceptable universal fallback so you don’t kill yourself. Please PM Freya on IRC if you’re interested.

Some Updates About Summer & E7AO

First off, Jaka and Sindalf make up 66.7% of the E7 staff, and both of them are at Axpo. I’m really not sure when it will be done. Jaka has his laptop, but I don’t think he’s really had time to do anything. (Also I added a header image to the website so it wasn’t black nothingness.)

kamosu zo!

Next off, Crunchyroll and Funimation have made a lot of summer announcements. We originally assumed that Moyashimon 2 would be simulcasted since it’s on noitaminA and didn’t count it as something we were interested in doing, but it wasn’t announced alongside the other noitaminA show, Natsuyuki Rendezvous. On the other hand, Funimation has announced they will be streaming Binbogami, but given how all of their recent “simul”casts have been late, no one knows if Binbogami will come out in a reasonable amount of time or not.

All in all, we’ve added Moyashimon 2 to our list of shows we’re interested in, and Binbogami is still a possibility depending on how late Funimation is.

We also watched Jinrui wa Suitaishimashita today and it was mixture of cute and depressing and weird. Highly recommended vieweing. A+++.

Edit: Oh, and happy early 4th of July.

E7AO10, Hyoka 7, New Webpage, and Hyoka = Dropped

If you’re reading this, you’ve made it to the new webpage. Our previous webhost left the fansubbing community and he cut off all of the services he was providing for us and other groups. Anyway, we’ve relocated. During the downtime, E7AO 10 and Hyoka 7 were both released. 7 was the last episode of Hyoka that 8thsin translated. After releasing 7, I got on Diablo 3 and spoke to 8th and we decided to just drop it. I’m not going to air a bunch of dirty laundry here, but I’ll say that the staff working on it sans 8th and Plorkyeran led to the decision. (✿ˇ◡ˇ) (FUCK YOU KUSION.) Aquarion Evol and the first half of Jormungand will be finishing up this week. We currently have no plans on picking up any additional projects for summer, although apparently Sindalf is trying to find a translator for Campione…? I don’t know how serious he was about that.
