So... Uh, there was like this band called gg. In the beginning there was this fag named Dogfag and we kicked him out 'cause he was a fag. Moving along, the band leader Koda made a splinter band called Sphere with this guy named Soulfag from this other band called Bruised Ichigo. Later, Koda left gg over songwriting issues with the bands songwriter, Eliza, who loved the phrases "sure fine" and "that fellow". Eventually, after hearing the music for Dead Girls, Eliza exploded and Mint took over the band. Friendly band Digitalpanic gave three concerts with gg called the Picture Book tour. Meanwhile, Koda punched Soulfag and took some Sphere people to embark on a project. By chance, Koda and El met up with TheFluff at Dominos, and they began project Dominos with various people from Sphere. Older members of gg were found and pulled into the project. House was found stoned at KAA and Xabin was kidnapped from the European Union after roaming the lands of Azeroth. And thus, Dominos was born, and Jesus put our pizza in the oven. While working on material for Dominos in late February, the band got the idea to revive gg. There was a rather unfortunate and unexpected casualty: el died of an overdose. Auditions were held in secret to find a replacement for him, resulting with new talent from Poland and Brazil filling up his place. With this mix of new and old band members uhh... whatever hi.

  1. Some faggoty magazine said Chinese Union in English, as opposed to translating Renpou as Federation. I'm liek, "lulz whatever".

  2. In R2 02, Anya really does say hell. In moonspeak we call this word JIGOKU. :O This is not a typo of hill.

  3. Akasha is the Sanskrit word for a/ether, the magical 5th element of the classical Greek elements. It's something like the material that makes up all existence. The Emperor is sounding pretty fucking badass here.
  4. Tian Zi (天子) is a title of Chinese sovereignty. We are leaving it as Tian Zi because it's... a Chinese title. :p In English it's usually translated to Emperor, though the Emperor of China in Geass happens to be an Empress.
  5. Okay, apparently using "The Imprisonment (that is made of) the Academy" gives off the impression that the Academy is imprisoned. LOLSRY.
  6. [insert stuff about Chinese in ep 4 here]. The Chinese palace place is like, a fucking color joke. Zzzz. You see, the thing that English speakers know as the Chinese Forbidden City, the Chinese actually translates to Purple Forbidden City. Now, Taniguchi is a very funny man (not), so he decided to subtley change the name. The Kanji used in ep 4, when read in Chinese, translates to Vermillion Forbidden City. OH WOW. COLOR JOKES. THAT IS FUCKING HILARIOUS. WOW. I guess we're just going to leave this in Chink if it ever comes up again, 'cause putting Forbidden City doesn't reflect the color joke, and English people don't seem to know it's specifically the Purple Forbidden City, so just putting Vermillion Forbidden City would have a lost effect. Uh. Give advice?
  7. On the topic of Chinese, does anyone know if you're supposed to translate that sky shit from the Three Kingdoms SPECIFICALLY as "The [color] Sky has perished"? Like, see, Google seems to love that phrase, so I'm wonder if that's THE ONE WAY to translate it. I put "The [color] Sky has set" because I thought it sounded cooler but like if there's some ONE ULTIMATE TRUE WAY to translate that (and that way happens to be perished or whatever), please inform me. D:
  8. At the end of ep 4, Lelouch compares Rolo to a cloth in Japanese, but like, no one in English fucking says "OMG CLOTH!!" so we equated it to what people who spekgudengrish do say, which is trash.

re: dominos geass s1 dvd releases

Okay. The comments about Dominos are getting retarded. Yes, the DVD's are still being done. Do you know why they're taking forever? Two reasons: #1: We're re-translating and re-editing the scripts because gg's S1 sucked. If you thought gg's S1 was good, you're a horrible translator and/or editor. Sure, it was the best fansub for the TV airing, but the room for improvement is over 9000. #2: TheFluff, who is encoding, is a slow faggot. In fact, effective immediately, you should all just call him TheFag.
